My inner city townhouse has three bedrooms. Two of these I offer to guests. They are comfortable sized rooms with king-sized beds and electric blankets. You are welcome and encouraged to share my lounge, it has become a venue to swap stories about travel and life. You can use my kitchen to make lunch or dinner. Tean and real coffee are supplied free of charge and you can spend the day at my home or go out and see the local attractions. I have a garden courtyard off the lounge which is an attrcative area to sit in.
It is a 90 minute drive to the ski fields or Akaroa, the peninsula town with the french influence. The whales are a two and a half hour drive at Kaikoura, or you can take a day excursion there by train. You can also take a day excursion to the West Coast, recommended. I know the South Island well so can advise on other areas worth visiting
